Create Website Shortcut to Desktop in Edge Browser

When using the Edge browser on a Windows machine, just drag and drop the “Lock” icon to your desktop! 

Follow these steps:

    1. Launch your browser
    2. Open the web page whose shortcut you want to create (https://www.airworthinessdirectives.com/Account/Login)
    3. Click and hold the lock icon  just before the URL in the address bar.
    4. Drag the icon to your desktop, release.
    5. The web shortcut will be created
    6. Now, when you click on it, the desired web page will load right away.

*You might want to “rename” the shortcut!  Do this by:
      • right-click of mouse, on the shortcut icon
      • select Rename
      • type the words “AD Toolbox
      • hit Enter on your keyboard.

The shortcut will appear with its new name “AD Toolbox“:

Want to change the Icon for the Shortcut?  Here’s how:
  1. Right-click the shortcut and select “Properties.”
  2. Go to the “Shortcut” tab.
  3. Click “Change Icon.”
  4. Choose an icon from the list, or browse for a custom icon file (see below for the AD Toolbox icon).
  5. Select the icon and click “OK” or “Apply.”
  6. Confirm changes in the Properties window.
  7. Close the Properties window.

To save the icon below, right-click on the image and choose Save As, or Save Image As:
